Basstraps
A bass trap is a deep cavity covered by absorptive material. The flow resistance of this material and its thickness should be optimized towards the frequencies that are to be absorbed. The bass traps from the premium series of MW-Acoustics are deliberately manufactured in their triangular shape such that there is a cavity in the rear part. This increases their effectiveness significantly to reach a balanced sound in the low-frequency range.
The placement in the corners is not by coincidence: Soundwaves of all frequencies, including those at which the room resonates, accumulate in the corners of a room. They are the perfect place to absorb low frequencies and deliver a more homogenous playback in the room.

Edges between walls and ceilings are convenient spots to place basstraps, while offering the same acoustical qualities as those closer to the floor. Ideally, basstraps can be placed i a U-shape around your listening spot.
